The Russo Brothers And Josh Brolin Are All On Board For The Thanos Sub-Reddit Banning
Thanos wiped out half the life in the universe with the snap of his fingers. Now half of a popular Reddit thread is about to meet the same fate, and some members of the Avengers: Infinity War cast and crew are getting in on the fun. Last week it was announced that half of the Reddit thread r/thanosdidnothingwrong was going to follow in the footsteps of the Mad Titan and randomly ban half of the users today. Since then, the thread has ballooned in popularity, and among the new users who have signed up just to get banned, are the Russo Brothers themselves, and they brought Josh Brolin with them.
Over the weekend the directors of Avengers: Infinity War joined the ever-growing thread of people in anticipation of the mass extermination. It seems only fair. The Russo Brothers are partially to blame for the mass death that has recently taken place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's only right that they be willing to subject themselves to the same risk.
The mass elimination of half the thread is scheduled for sometime today, though the exact moment is being kept secret. Those running the thread have created a bot that will randomly choose half of the currently 624,000 people that are subscribed, including the threads moderators, because the culling will be fair and balanced. The number of people subscribed to the thread has nearly doubled since last week. Showing that thousands of people have joined in recent days simply to be part of the banning when it happens.
It will be interesting to see what happens if one Russo Brother is banned and the other survives.
The Russos aren't just joining the thread and then sitting back and waiting, however. They're doing what everybody does on Reddit, posting hilarious memes. Anthony Russo got in on the pre-banning fun by posting a behind the scenes image of Avengers: Infinity War that included Robert Downey Jr. in conversation with a motion-capture decked out Josh Brolin.
In addition, Josh Brolin got in on the fun. Joe Russo posted a video of Brolin himself getting the thread ready for the moment it all goes down. With a snap, of course. Check out the clip below which was originally posted to Reddit.
The hammer is set to drop on this thread at any moment. No one is quite sure what's going to happen. There seem to be a lot of people who feel that the mass banning could see consequences beyond this thread, causing problems for Reddit as a whole, potentially crashing the site. It only makes sense that a massive loss like this would result in significant issues for those of us who are left.
